Chronic Disorganization is something every organizer is exposed to sooner or later—and it’s commonly sooner. In this class you’ll learn about CD. What is it? What isn’t it? What factors influence CD? What are some signs a prospective client may struggle with CD? What should you do if you walk into a client’s home and there appear to be serious CD issues? Are you the right fit for this type of work? Debra Frank and Kim Anker-Paddon, two long time experts in the field of Chronic Disorganization, will introduce the basics as well as present case studies from their experiences as professional organizers.

Participants will be able to:

* Define CD (Chronic Disorganization)
* Become familiar with some of the causes of CD
* Understand the concept of Do No Harm
* Develop a plan to obtain the skills and education to serve the CD population.

This two-hour workshop will help you gain a better understanding of Chronic Disorganization.

    Debra Frank founded her company, Let’s Get Organized! in 2001. Based in Manhattan Beach, Debra has devoted her career to working with chronically disorganized clients because she has found these clients to be the most interesting, challenging, and rewarding people to work with.  She places a high value on professional education, especially when working with this population. Debra joined the Institute for Challenging Disorganization in 2002, earned her CPO-CD certification in 2008, and became a Level IV Program Mentor in 2011.  Primary areas of expertise are ADHD, hoarding behavior, ageing, and dementia.  Debra recently joined the ICD Education Team and would be pleased to talk with anyone interested in learning more about educational opportunities.     Kim Anker-Paddon received her Certified Professional Organizer in Chronic Disorganization from the Institute for Challenging Disorganization and is a Master Trainer, ICD’s highest level of certification. She studied coaching with Coach Approach for Organizers and is a Certified Organizer Coach. Kim is based in Los Angeles and works with a wide range of clientele, from creative clients challenged by their home offices to people with complex project management needs.  A specialty is assisting clients with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) through an integrated organizing and coaching approach.
