Recycling Myths Debunked!
Presented By
Rachel Marks, Total Recycling Program Manager (TRP) at Waste Management

As organizers and productivity consultants, many of us strive to minimize the environmental impact of helping our clients discard things they no longer want or need. But what if everything we thought we know about recycling were wrong? Please join NAPO-Los Angeles for our final meeting of the year (and decade!) featuring LA Waste Management expert Rachel Marks. We'll separate recycling fact from fiction and learn eco-friendly best practices to implement in our businesses and in our own households.

Rachel Marks has devoted a 7+ year career to building genuine partnerships within communities and advancing meaningful sustainable initiatives. In 2016 Rachel graduated with Chatham University’s School of Sustainability with a master’s in food studies. Rachel became the Program Manager of Bring the Farmer to Your Classroom and worked on development for SEE-LA (Sustainable Economic Enterprises) where she connected Title 1 LAUSD schools to local California farmers to provide students with a unique interactive educational experience. In April of this year, she assumed the role of Total Recycling Program Manager (TRP) at Waste Management. In her role as TRP, she understands in-depth recycling market trends, facilitates compliance visits, and conducts internal and external company recycling training for southern Los Angeles.

The Opportunity Drawing continues with...
Andrea Krohn!

Andrea Krohn is the founder and owner of LA Move Consultants.  Andrea has been helping people organize, de-clutter, and move their homes for over a decade.  Andrea has lived all over the US, including New York, Chicago, Atlanta and Arizona before finally settling in California.  During these years, Andrea leveraged her education in Fine Arts as well as her career in organizational media management by helping plan, design and build three homes.  Building on these experiences, Andrea decided to make a career out of helping others organize their homes and lives by "re-move-ing the stress in moving". As her children got older Andrea decided to get back to work and in early 2014, LA Move Consultants was born.

Andrea has served on local school boards the PTA and various local and national charities.  Andrea is a member of NAPO National (National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals) and co-liaison for the NAPO-LA South Bay chapter. Andrea recently earned her certificate on Life Transitions and plans to work on additional certificates in the coming year. Andrea graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Arizona. She currently lives in Manhattan Beach with her two teenaged children and her dog Liberty.
