Case Studies in Organizing: Tales from the Road

presented by a distinguished panel of our peers:

Laura Ellis, Organized by Ellis

Deborah Kawashima, Creative Organizer

Nancy McFarland, SoCal Photo Solutions

Moderated by Leslie Haber, An Organized Life

Join us for an interesting evening of organizing tales from the road!  Members of our panel will present the challenges of their particular specialties by discussing specific case studies they have encountered in their careers. From these stories, coupled with a moderated Q&A dialogue, you will hear different ideas and gain valuable perspective on ways to help you and your clients think out of the box.

Laura Ellis, CPO®, originally from New York is currently the VP of NAPO-LA here in Los Angeles. She began organizing in NYC when she worked as an Executive Assistant for various CEOs. It was her job to keep these top dogs prepared and functioning at peak performance. When she realized how much she loved to organize she began to work with clients in their NYC homes to declutter and maximize their space. Laura’s twenty years’ experience in small business administration together with her certificate in Project Management (UCLA) give her a formal education in getting things done. She applies that knowledge to help her clients cure the clutter and move toward a simple way of living. You can visit Laura at www.organizedbyellis.com.

As a mom and certified professional organizer, Deborah Kawashima, CPO® of Creative Organizer provides hands-on organizing for families, specializing in working with kids and students.  Deborah has also taught time management & organizational courses at UCLA extension’s Pathway and as an active member of NAPO, she co-founded and was national committee chair (2005-2010) for NAPO in the Schools. She is currently the Educational Chair for the NAPO-LA POLA Committee. Deborah lives in Studio City with her husband and two sons. When not organizing, she is working on a novel. You can find Deborah at www.creativeorganizer.com

Nancy McFarland, founder of SoCal Photo Solutions has been in the photo preservation business since 1995. She was a founding member of the Association of Personal Photo Organizers (APPO) in 2010. In 2012 as APPO West Coast Training Specialist, she helped grow this emerging niche of photo organizing. Now she focuses on organizing, digitizing and preserving  printed and digital photos for her clients. Nancy can be found on the web at www.SoCalPhotoSolutions.com
